Mahindra has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the grand unveiling of two groundbreaking SUVs—the Mahindra BE 6e and Mahindra XEV 9e. Revealed in Chennai on November 26, 2024, these models mark a significant leap forward in the Indian automaker’s EV strategy.
Designed from the ground up on the INGLO platform, these SUVs belong to Mahindra’s “Born Electric” range and are set to redefine expectations in the electric mobility space.
Design and Platform
- Mahindra BE 6e: A sporty, SUV-inspired electric vehicle with sharp, futuristic design elements. It’s positioned as a versatile family SUV with performance capabilities.

- Mahindra XEV 9e: A sleek, coupe-like electric SUV that combines style with functionality, ideal for urban and highway driving.

The INGLO platform is modular and scalable, providing the flexibility to adapt to different powertrain configurations and cabin designs. This ensures that the BE 6e and XEV 9e are not only visually appealing but also structurally optimized for electric powertrains.
Performance and Range
Both models are equipped with 59kWh and 79kWh battery options and feature cutting-edge Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry.
- Charging: Using a 175kW DC fast charger, these SUVs can charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
- Range: The top-end models offer an estimated range of up to 450 km, making them suitable for long journeys.
The vehicles feature a compact three-in-one powertrain that integrates the motor, inverter, and transmission. The RWD versions produce up to 286hp, while the BE 6e AWD variant benefits from additional power through a front axle motor.

Although official prices are yet to be announced, industry experts estimate that the BE 6e will start at ₹18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e might be priced higher, starting at around ₹21.90 lakh. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2025.
