The Festival of Speed 2024 in Kullu is here to captivate motorsport fans! Held from November 27 to 29, this thrilling event combines the excitement of high-speed racing with the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan region.
What Is the Festival of Speed?
A one-of-a-kind motorsport event, the Festival of Speed features autocross and dirt-cross races certified by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). Participants, ranging from amateurs to professionals, tackle rugged mountain tracks in powerful vehicles.
Many participants, including boys, men, and girls, competed in the Festival of Speed held at Kullu’s iconic Dhalpur Ground, also known as the Dussehra Ground. The event was inaugurated by Suresh Rana, a multi-time winner of the Raid the Himalaya rally, alongside MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, who both took a lap of the track.
The festival featured exciting races for bikes and cars, catering to speed and adventure enthusiasts. While many participants completed the challenging tracks, some experienced crashes, emphasizing the sport’s risks. Emergency vehicles were stationed to handle any accidents promptly.
This is the first event of its kind in Kullu, providing a thrilling experience for participants and spectators alike while celebrating motorsports in the Himalayas.
