Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his Bandra home late last night, suffering multiple stab wounds, including one to his spine. The shocking incident unfolded when an intruder broke into the actor’s residence with intentions of committing burglary.
How the Attack Unfolded
Around 2 AM, Saif Ali Khan’s house help, Eliyama Phillipes (also known as Lima), was the first to spot the intruder. The maid screamed in fear, alerting Saif, who immediately confronted the attacker. A violent struggle ensued, during which the intruder stabbed Saif six times before fleeing the scene.
The actor was critically injured, with one wound to his spine and other injuries to his neck and left hand. Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children were thankfully unharmed during the incident.
The Intruder’s Path into the Home
According to police reports, the intruder entered the premises through the compound of the building. He scaled a wall to access the back of the actor’s residence. Once there, the intruder used a fire escape to reach Saif’s apartment on one of the top floors. Security footage has shown the attacker entering and exiting the building undetected.
Saif’s Condition and Recovery
Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors successfully removed the knife lodged in his spine and repaired additional deep wounds on his hand and neck. Despite the severity of his injuries, Saif’s condition has stabilized, and he is now recovering well.
Hospital authorities confirmed that Saif is no longer in danger and is expected to make a full recovery.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have launched a full investigation into the incident, and they believe the attack was part of an attempted burglary. While the identity of the attacker remains unknown, authorities have identified a suspect and are actively working to track him down.
