Uttarakhand Bus Accident Details:

A major road accident has occurred in Almora, Uttarakhand. A bus fell into a gorge near Marchula. In the accident, 36 people have lost their lives, and many others are injured. Four of the injured have been airlifted, and three have been admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing at the site. The SDRF team is present at the location.

On Monday, a bus full of passengers fell into a river near the Marchula area in Almora district of Uttarakhand. The bus had over 55 passengers on board. As soon as the incident was reported, police and administration officials rushed to the site. The SSP of Almora has arrived at the location. An SDRF team has also reached to assist with the rescue operation. The death toll from the accident has been confirmed to be 36.

The bus was traveling from Kinhath to Ramnagar via Nainidanda. As soon as the bus reached near Marchula, it fell into the river near Sard Band.

As the bus fell into the river, there was chaos and shouting. Some people died on the spot, while others were thrown out of the bus and fell down. The injured passengers were the ones who informed others about the incident.

Upon receiving the information, the police and administration teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue and relief operations. The injured were taken to the hospital. A total of 36 passengers lost their lives, while many others were injured.

There were more than 55 passengers on the bus

which was a 40-seater. Disaster Management Officer from Almora, Vineet Pal, stated that 36 passengers have lost their lives. The number of fatalities may rise. A rescue team is actively working at the site.

PM Modi Expresses Condolences Over Uttarakhand Bus Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the tragic bus accident in Almora. He wrote, “My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the road accident in Almora, Uttarakhand. I also wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured. The local administration, under the guidance of the state government, is making every effort in the relief and rescue operations.”

The Prime Minister has also announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the families of each person who lost their life in the accident. The injured will receive ₹50,000 each.

CM Announces Compensation, Suspends ARTO Enforcement Officer

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the suspension of the ARTO Enforcement officers from the Pauri and Almora regions. The Chief Minister has also directed that the families of the deceased be given ₹4 lakh each, and the injured be given ₹1 lakh each as assistance. The Commissioner of Kumaon Division has been directed to conduct a magistrate’s inquiry into the incident.

CM Dhami Directs Swift Rescue and Relief Operations

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke over the phone with the Secretary of Disaster Management, the Commissioner of Kumaon Division, and the District Magistrate (DM) of Almora to get updates on the incident. He has directed that rescue and relief operations be carried out swiftly.

The DM of Dehradun is also being specially sent to oversee the rescue operation. Teams from both SDRF and NDRF have reached the site, and rescue and relief operations have begun. Instructions have also been given to airlift critically injured passengers if necessary.
